In Early Years, students are continuously assessed through regular observations, work samples and structured tracking aligned with the EYFS framework. Progress in key areas, especially Literacy and Mathematics, is carefully monitored using a bespoke tracker updated each term. The International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) adds a broader view of each child’s development across learning strands. Phonics is checked every half-term to track decoding and sound recognition. Weekly digital and physical portfolios celebrate individual progress, while end-of-year ELG summaries help ensure a smooth, confident move to the next stage of learning.
Students develop essential life skills—such as collaboration, communication, independence, creativity and problem-solving—through hands-on, play-based learning. During IEYC projects, students take on roles like “idea leader” or “materials manager” to build teamwork and a sense of responsibility. In class shops and role-play areas, they practise early entrepreneurship by handling pretend money, making decisions and negotiating roles. Creative thinking is nurtured through open-ended art and construction tasks, while STEM challenges like building bridges or designing simple machines encourage critical thinking and real-world problem-solving.
In the Early Years, students are introduced to a rich language curriculum that includes English, Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin. Weekly lessons in Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin support early language development alongside immersion in English as the primary language of instruction. This early exposure lays the groundwork for proficiency in multiple languages.
In the early years, we plant the seeds of curiosity, confidence, and kindness —nurturing each child's unique path through play, discovery, and love for learning.
